Program Changes:

The CGI Preschool program will not see significant changes, we were able to keep the basic structure of the program intact with the addition of more frequent hand washing, sanitizing and disinfecting.
  • We will still enjoy indoor and outdoor playtime, circle time and group activities, art, science and hands on learning.
  • Supplies and toys in the room will be chosen so that they can be easily sanitized.
  • Shared supplies will be limited and disinfected after each use. Every child will receive their own set of basic supplies (scissors, glue, crayons etc) to avoid exposure as much as possible.
  • The classroom space will be designed to practice social distancing as much as reasonably possible. We will be limiting the amount of children in one area of the room during any given time as well as asking children to avoid physical contact with their friends.
  • We will not be playing any contact sports, but will enjoy obstacle courses, hunts, and other gross motor activities.
Additional Health & Safety Updates & Guidelines:

Here are some of the additional guidelines that we will be following this summer.
  • Program will be limited to 2 groups with up to 10 children in each group. Each group will have 2 teachers. Each group will run as an independent cohort, there will be no moving  children or staff between groups.
  • No parents or visitors will be allowed in the building.
  • Children will be reminded to stay extra careful with hand washing, using sanitizer and other important hygienic guidelines at all times. All children and staff will wash their hands between all activities and before and after eating.
  • We will be spending time both indoors and outdoors. When indoors, windows will be kept open to increase ventilation.
  • Children will each have a dedicated supply box to minimize shared supplies and direct contact.
  • The staff will be regularly cleaning and sanitizing the shared classroom furniture including the sinks, bathrooms and tables. Shared equipment will be sanitized between each use.
  • Children will be eating lunch and snacks (sent from home, pareve or dairy only please) with as much separation from each other as reasonable possible. They will be reminded of proper hygiene practice. All food areas will be thoroughly cleaned and sanitized before and after eating.
  • Any child who has experienced fever, vomiting, cough, diarrhea, loss of taste or smell or other symptoms typical of Covid-19 or has been exposed to a household member experiencing symptoms, will be unable to rejoin the program until 72 hours after the symptoms subside, in most cases a negative test result and/or doctor’s note will be required before returning.
  • Any child or staff member who displays a high temperature or other symptoms during the camp day will be isolated from the rest of the group and sent home ASAP. Parents will be notified of any possible exposure to illness.
Morning Drop-off Procedures:

Parents are required to check their children’s temperature before arriving at camp each morning. You are required to keep your child at home if they or any household member have fever or other symptoms, or have traveled out of the Northern California area in the past 14 days. Additionally, all campers will be temperature checked with a contact-less thermal thermometer before being checked in each morning, any camper with a fever of 100.4 will be sent home. Only after being screened can your child enter the building. Staff will be outside to welcome you and screen for fever. Before entering, all children will be required to sanitize their hands.
